My name is Wei (Adelyn) Tsai and I am a student at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities majoring in Genetics and Neuroscience, and minoring in Pharmacology. I believe it is important to have a healthy brain as it determines who we are, what we think, and how we behave. Therefore, I have been devoting to research to resolve the complicated pathological mechanisms causing neurological and neuropsychiatric diseases. I had done research to understand the genetic factors and neuronal activity changes in alcohol addiction. Now I am investigating the molecular mechanisms causing neuroinflammation and synaptic disruptions in Huntington’s disease. I earned a research scholarship and presented my research at symposiums. Currently, I am also preparing for submitting a research paper. I am planning on continuing my research career in brain health by applying to neuroscience Ph.D. programs. In my spare time, I like to read, watch dramas and movies.
